Salim’s practice is balanced between acting for established bank and non bank originators, emerging specialty finance and fintech platform lenders, private equity and credit investors as well as leading investment banks and bank lenders.

He works with a variety of structures including master trusts, repackaging structures, public securitisations, portfolio acquisitions, forward flow transactions and private securitisations/warehouse facilities. In addition he works on covered bond programmes in the UK and in Europe. Salim works on capital relief trades both synthetic and true sale.

Salim participates actively in industry associations and is on the AFME securitisation board, the ICMA securitisation committee and the PCS board as well as being an active participant in the UK’s Regulated Covered Bond Council. He speaks regularly at conferences.

Harry Noutsos started working in securitisation in 2000 where, after working in research and structuring at CSFB, he took on responsibilities for modelling and structuring at Bank of America and Santander before taking the position Global Head of ABS for ING.

Andrew joined Guy Carpenter in 2021 and brings over 25 years of structured credit and derivatives experience to lead the firm’s structured credit efforts in Europe and is part of its leading Mortgage Credit Specialty practice.  Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Andrew held senior roles at Mizuho, Lazard, and ABN AMRO and has been active in originating and structuring capital relief programmes since the early 2000s.  Andrew holds a degree in Econometrics & Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics.

Jo is a consultant in A&O Shearman’s London regulatory practice with 20 years’ experience with the firm. Jo advises on a wide range of banking regulatory matters, with a particular focus on securitisation regulation and bank prudential regulation.  She has advised clients on a large number of traditional and synthetic securitisation / significant risk transfer deals. She engages with regulators in support of clients, and with trade associations, including regularly holding the pen on industry consultation responses.

In particular, Maria is involved in advising clients on, and general advocacy work (engaging directly with the lawmakers and supervisors in the EU and the UK) relating to regulation of securitisation and covered bonds in the EU and the UK, EU NPL reforms, sustainability-related reforms and developments relating to central bank (the Eurosystem and the Bank of England) liquidity operations and eligible collateral requirements and regulation of credit rating agencies.

Andrea joined Munich Re in 2023 as Managing Director, focusing on structured credit solutions and significant risk transfer transactions, following more than 20 years of experience across the investment banking and insurance sectors. Prior to joining Munich Re, Andrea led global structured portfolio solutions at Marsh McLennan. Before that, he was a Partner at StormHarbour Securities, a broker-dealer and financial advisory firm, where he specialised in asset-backed products, cash and synthetic securitisations. Earlier in his career, Andrea held senior leadership roles at Moody’s and at Genworth Financial, a global insurance company spun off from General Electric.

Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and an MBA from SDA Bocconi.

Alastair Pickett is a Portfolio Manager for Chenavari’s credit risk sharing and asset backed finance strategies, supporting the firm’s continuous investment efforts in the strategies for over a decade. The strategy invests across underlying asset classes to provide a diversified offering to its clients. Prior to joining Chenavari, Alastair served as Director of the Risk and Capital Solutions business at RBS, which he joined in 2011, focusing on originating, structuring and executing SRT transactions on behalf of the bank. Alastair started his career in CLO structuring at BNP Paribas in 2004. Alastair holds masters degrees in mathematics and statistics, and a PhD in applied probability, from Oxford University.

Mr. Río Cortés joined Apollo in 2019 in Credit and is responsible for investing in credit assets for funds managed by Apollo and Athene Asset Management. Prior to that time, Mr. Río Cortés was an MD in the Securitised Products Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from August 2011 to September 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Río Cortés was an MD in the Capital Markets Solutions Group at Société Générale CIB from April 2010 to August 2011, and an MD in the Structured Finance Group at Bear Stearns / JPMorgan from September 2004 to April 2010. Between June 1995 and September 2004, Mr Río Cortes worked also for McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs and C.A. Indosuez. Mr. Río Cortés graduated from ESADE (Barcelona, Spain) with a Licenciado degree in Finance and Economics, and from UNED (Madrid, Spain) with a Licenciado degree in Law, and received his M. Sc. in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology / Sloan School.

Poppy works on a range of structured finance and securitisation transactions and has experience across a variety of asset classes including residential mortgages (owner occupied, buy to let, equity release, bridging and development loans), commercial mortgages (logistics, office and retail) and consumer loans.

Poppy also specialises in securitisation structures across the Middle East with a particular focus on the GCC.

Poppy has also completed a secondment at a major US investment bank, assisting on a wide range of real estate finance transactions.
